John Drewicz

 

President


John is the current President of the Association (2011-13).  He has been a member of the AEP National Executive Committee since he was elected Honorary Treasurer in 1996, an office which he continued to hold until his election as Vice-President /President-elect in 2009.  For much of this time on the NEC he also chaired the Finance and Organisation sub-committee, and latterly the editorial board of Educational Psychology in Practice.
 

John worked for a number of years in the legal department of a finance company, while also running an engineering business in his ‘spare’ time, before deciding to pursue a career in psychology.  After gaining a first degree in psychology and a PGCE at Hull University he taught maths and computer science for several years in a Hull high school.  He qualified as an EP in 1982 at Sheffield University and went on to work for Essex, Humberside and East Riding of Yorkshire councils.  In 2007 he was appointed to his current post as Principal Educational Psychologist with Doncaster Council.
