Disclosure & Barring Service Checks

If you are a member you can now obtain a DBS check is through the AEP
To be eligible for a Disclosure and Barring Service Check the role must fall within the DBS definitions of Regulated Activity and the employment decision must be made in England or Wales.

All members can access this service through the AEP - the cost for an enhanced check is £66.50

To apply for a DBS check please complete the 'DBS Questionnaire and payment form' and return to DBS@aep.org.uk

DBS Update Service

This is a service that can be used by all applicants applying for their next DBS check. By joining the Update service, individuals gain greater control of their information and are able to reuse their DBS certificates when applying for similar jobs. Further information is available at www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service

You should look to register on this as soon after gaining certification of your DBS check result as possible, as you only have 19 days from the date of award to register.
