We want Bradford to be a great place to be a child – a place where all our children and young people are given the best start in life and can fully develop their talents and abilities. Are you the right Educational Psychology leader to make a difference to the lives of our children and young people?

Bradford Educational Psychology Service is a thriving and well-respected service driving forward support for children with SEND across the district. Our new Principal Educational Psychologist will have the vision, passion, expertise, and ability to innovatively lead the service forward so that every child in the district gets the right support at the right time.

Our service delivers a varied mix of Innovative partnership project and statutory work, alongside our traded offers to schools that makes leading Bradford Educational Psychology service a fantastic role. With the backing of senior leadership, you will have the opportunity to make a difference and further develop a forward thinking and innovative service.

You will be able to:

  • Lead well: Manage our Educational Psychology Service with a blend of strategic vision and hands-on leadership, ensuring the highest quality practice.
  • Inspire and Develop: Provide guidance and professional development to a team of talented educational psychologists, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Collaborate Creatively: Work with schools, parents, and other stakeholders to craft and implement effective practice through interventions and support plans for children and young people with SEND.
  • Assess and Advise: Oversee assessments and offer expert advice on a wide range of psychological and educational issues.
  • Innovate Policies: Develop and implement forward-thinking policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Evaluate and Improve: Monitor and evaluate the impact of our services, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Be Our Ambassador: Represent our service at local and national forums, contributing to the evolution of educational psychology practice across the area.

As Principal, you will shape local practice, working in partnership with schools and others to drive inclusion and SEND practice. You will have the scope to further develop our popular and in-demand traded service alongside our statutory work. You will ensure that our fully staffed service has the skills and expertise to influence and lead support across the district. You will lead our strategy for growth of the service that already benefits from a popular pathway for newly qualified, trainee, and assistant EPs.

Applicants must be professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
