The EP Autism Special Interest Group (EPASIG) is organising another study day on Friday 7th June 2024 at the UCL Institute of Education in London, our first in-person event since Covid times! Our theme this year is on promoting neurodiversity-affirming practices in education.
We have an exciting lineup of speakers who will, across the day, give their perspectives on how we can affirm and honour differences and needs of neurodivergent children in early childhood development and play, offer examples of inclusive practices through curriculum and environmental adaptations in a mainstream school context, share lived experiences of autistic young people from their research, and consider the challenges and opportunities that EPs may have in promoting neurodiversity-affirming and anti-ableist practices when working in our current SEND systems. As in previous study days, it will also be a great networking opportunity with colleagues who have a shared interest in working with autistic children and young people.
We are putting the final touches to our programme, and look forward to sharing further information about our speakers along with details about costs and booking arrangements with you soon.
In the meantime, please note the date in your diary, as we know that many of us will be busy sorting our calendars for the Summer Term!
