Topic: Experiences of Educational Psychologists from low status backgrounds: implications and reflections from research
This session will explore and reflect on findings and implications from Dr Nicole Thomas’ thesis research titled “Does that mean we’re middle class now?” Experiences of educational psychologists who identify as coming from a low socioeconomic status background in accessing, training, and practicing within the profession. There will be space for conversations about other people’s experiences and considerations of how best to encourage and facilitate more applicants from LSES backgrounds.
