A systems thinking approach to the management and leadership of psychological services
This 8-session course addresses a career progression need for EPs engaging with a management role. It is intended for (i) recently appointed senior EPs (management or specialist) and (ii) EPs with 3 years experience who are considering a senior EP role. It is designed to develop and clarify ideas about psychological service management and develop participants’ confidence that progression to management is the right route for them. The course will provide structured input on management and leadership from a purposive systems perspective. Alongside this there will group work which explores the ideas presented and opportunities to tackle “here and now” dilemmas in a secure “reflecting team” setting.
Online management and leadership training via Zoom has been successfully delivered since the time of the pandemic with participants from all areas of the UK and internationally. Feedback regarding on line presentations and small group work has been consistently positive.
The course leader is Dr Roger Booker, Associate Professor (Teaching) (retired) and honorary staff member of the UCL Educational Psychology Group and developer of the highly successful Leadership Programme for Principal EPs.
This is the sixth iteration of the management course which has received exceptionally positive feedback from previous participants. It is scheduled to run on eight Tuesday evenings (4.00pm to 7.00pm) via Zoom from 7th January to 1st April 2025.
As an approved UCL Educational Psychology Group CPD course a certificate of attendance will be issued for evidencing CPD requirements. If you are interested please click the link below for further information.
