HCPC support

The HCPC is the regulator of health & care professions in the UK. Their role is as follows:

Referral to the HCPC? AEP are here for you.

We recognise that it is very distressing for members to be investigated by the HCPC. However, the HCPC has to carry out investigations when a complaint has been referred to them.

At the AEP, we work to ensure that the investigations and hearings are carried out fairly and that our members’ evidence is properly taken into account.

We recognise that being referred to the HCPC can be stressful and isolating.

During the HCPC investigation period, it is helpful to engage with the HCPC process. We understand this can feel overwhelming and the support provided by the AEP can help you through this difficult time.

If you or a fellow AEP member receives any communication from the HCPC to say that an allegation regarding fitness to practise has been received then the AEP office should be contacted on 0191 3849512 immediately if advice and/or support is required.

You will be referred to the AEP’s Legal Officer who can provide advice and representation and will assist you with preparing each step of the case.
